Lesson (PPTX)

This is a fully differentiated lesson aimed at teaching the new AQA GCSE Biology and Trilogy Biology specification, and links with the microscope and cells aspect of the course. This is a useful lesson to include as it is a focus on just the mathematical skills that are required by students in the new GCSE 9-1 specification.

This lesson has 5 learning objectives that are structured in the IDEAL format:

*Identify the size of different things in order of magnitude.

*Describe the magnitude difference between different objects.

*Explain the magnitude differences between measurements of distance using standard form.

*Apply what you know to calculate different magnitudes using standard form.

*Link your understanding of orders of magnitude to volume to approximate the number of atoms in a child’s body.

This lesson is designed with a challenge objective and challenge questions throughout to stretch your most able students, whilst supporting your LA students.

Review the lesson before teaching to see how the animations and objectives will work in your lesson.
