This resource is a fully differentiated lesson aimed at teaching the new GCSE Physics and Trilogy Physics specification, and links to the Energy and Energy resources module.

 

This lesson has 5 learning objectives that are structured in the IDEAL format:

 

• Identify types of useful and waste energy (recap).

• Describe how to improve the efficiency of a device.

​

• Explain, using calculations, which device is the most efficient.

​

• Apply your understanding of efficiency to explain why energy efficient devices are important.

​

• Link ideas of specific heat capacity to work out the efficiency of a spirit burner.
